Friday Freeze Frame

Today, our baby turns 8.

Do you see a theme, for what she loves in these photos?

To say that she loves animals is really an understatement. Her goal is to become a vet/fashion designer. I really do think she will do both!

For her birthday we have a wonderful surprise for her. One that I'm pretty sure will fulfill her animal loving ways. I can't wait!

Stay tuned for what Morgan gets to do on her birthday!

Happy birthday, Morgan!

Friday Freeze Frame

Spring time in the South means lots of colors.

Lots of lovely fragrances.

 Lots of things blooming.

And in my opinion, the only time Azaleas look beautiful

Can you spot the bumblebee in this picture?

Yes, Spring time is on of my favorites seasons, just because it's so colorful.

My Grandmother's yard is full of color!

Then there is this stuff on the side of the road.

When I was little I used to think it was wild strawberries growing by the side of the road. Then I learned it was simply clover.

Every year when it starts to bloom, I know I will get a call from Ralph telling the first time he spots some. For him, it's a reminder of his dad. Steve always enjoyed seeing it bloom.

He has since passed on that love to our girls. They love to point it out.

Spring time is just simply beautiful....

Sometimes you just have to stop and find the beauty in the simple things...

Friday Freeze Frame

I love fence rows. Especially when they are clean, meaning no weeds or grass growing to cover them. It probably has to do with my need for boundaries and the general need to have a clearly stated starting/stopping point.

I am sure there's a support group for that.

The other day while walking a fence row, I saw this.

A straight post, beside a curved tree. It almost was like the tree was beside the solid, straight post to show it, it's ok to bend a little sometimes.

To be flexible.

To be grounded, but pliable.

That is an important reminder for someone who tends to put rules ahead of relationships. Which is why I'm pretty sure God saw fit to pair me with Ralph. He reminds to be grounded, but pliable.

A good combination.

This year I did not even realize it was time for my birthday. There are several possibilities on why it seems to have slipped my mind.

1. Age (insert old, gray haired lady joke here)

2. Busy (softball practice, baseball practice, subbing, washing clothes, washing dishes, cooking, etc.)

3. Age (one year away from our 20th high school reunion - gulp)

4. Making sure my 4th grader was not stressed out over the FCAT writing test today.

5. Age

With all those reason being said, here is the main reason - everyday is special. I have realized in the past year, just how fast time is flying.
That we are not guaranteed tomorrow.
Every life counts.
Every choice matters.
Love is the ultimate goal.
Grace is the that thing most needed.
Time, it matters where you spend it and who you spend it with.

At 37 I am thankful for another birthday, but more importantly, I am just thankful for another day.
