I realize it's been a while since I've posted. There are several reasons why, and I've actually missed it. I mean who doesn't miss sharing their off the wall, totally random thoughts with the rest of the world.
Wait, am I the only one with my hand raised? Eh, story of my life.
As I was saying, lots of things have been going on round these parts. Mainly the holidays. Oh, the wonderful holidays! I say that with lots of wonder and excitement in my voice, because believe it or not, I do enjoy the holidays. The music. The lights. The cold weather. The decorations. *Sigh* and now they are over.
And then there's this little idea I had, that my husband has helped develop and encouraged (read here-pushed & said "You are doing it, 'cause it's a great idea and I believe in you."). This idea has been marinating for a while, and it is time to jump.
Yesterday we launched our website MyBarefootLiving.com.
I have always been interested in pictures. When the children came along, photos took on a whole new meaning. Then that lead to me looking all around me and seeing amazing images. God is pretty amazing with the use of His color palette. So, in the last 3 years I've been just taking pictures of my family, my surroundings. That has flamed this passion.
I am very much still learning the technical aspects of photography, and I am loving looking at life thru my camera lens.
There are other dreams that Ralph and I have discussed with My Barefoot Living. The phrase itself very much describes our family. We have the wonderful fortune to live in the Sunshine State. Most of the time you will find me and my daughters barefoot. Our girls may or may not have mud or sand between said toes of feet on any given day. That's what we want for our girls, to enjoy the simple things such as mud, dirt & sand on their feet.
There is beauty in the simple things. We are so busy and distracted that we often miss the beauty around us.
Slow down, breathe deeply, enjoy the simple things - that's our goal. To capture and celebrate the moments when we can relax, laugh and see the beauty in and around us.
I look forward to this adventure and where it will take us. I look forward to you joining us and being part of our journey.
Just remember - Barefoot living is more than a catchy phrase, it can be a chosen way of life.
