Democrat or Republican?

This is what Morgan wrote, that she would do if she were president -

It doesn't really matter what party Morgan chooses when she is old enough to vote.
Knowing her and her personality, I would guess Miss Independent, though!

Milestone Birthday

My oldest daughter turned 10 today.

That really seems unreal.

She's almost wearing the same size shoe as me - almost.

Ten - 10 - double digits now. A decade.

Happy birthday sweet girl. I'm so thankful God allowed me to be your mom.

Labor of Love

This year for Valentine's Day I did not ask for flowers, or jewelry, or candy, or a card. I would rather get flowers or a card on 'normal' day, just because he thought of me. Not because Hallmark told him too.

I told Ralph I just wanted to work on the house.

I am so ready to move in.

So, that's what we did. We worked on the house. Specifically, Ralph worked on a project that I am so excited about. He worked in the kitchen, on the back splash, putting up the thin brick.

Before I go any further, no it's not finished. The blue you see is the backer board, and will not be seen once the mortar is put in.

These thin brick are special for another reason. Ralph searched high and low for the ones I wanted. The place near here, where we were going to get them from, could not get them until mid February, early March. That was going to be too late. So, as I was looking at other possible colors, Ralph was looking for other suppliers. He found one, in Tampa and they had plenty. I'm so thankful, because they are perfect!

He began yesterday putting them in place.

It's a process that involves liquid nail.

And tile spacers.

And measuring.

I don't like measuring. That requires math skills.

This also involves fractions. I don't like fractions.

I shiver at the word fraction. He does not. For him it's a challenge.

I'm thankful my husband likes a challenge. Maybe that's why he married me.

This project also involves patience. Waiting for the glue to dry. Making sure the brick does not slip.

He has worked to hard to make sure it looks good.

Definitely a labor of love, on his part.

I am over the moon with the way it looks.

I love it.
